The Bakery Project – Diary – 02
Pretzel products obviously can not be missed in a Black Forest Bakery. Pretzels are very typical for South Germany.
I was not surprised to see them in the bakery but it is funny to get them in South Africa where you would have never expectd them. The ones in the Black Forest Bakery are really good. Some bakeries in Germany make them less delicious.
During these days of the Oktoberfest in Munich, pretzels are enjoying a boom. There is no Oktoberfest without pretzels. Last weekend we visited the Oktoberfest at the German School in Pretoria. The students of the school walked around with long red sticks filled with pretzels and sold them. Of course we then had to enjoy a pretzel with a beer as well.
