In my last post I told you that she doesn’t have a sweet tooth, thats why I baked a Gugelhupf for her birthday – but for the party she wanted to have a horse cake for her friends. In the Black Forest Bakery I had the opportunity to bake a cake for her. The choice fell on a chocolate cake. Days before I organized little horses, crafted an arche with pennants and a fence. The cake had 3 layers of chocolate swiss roll. On the first layer I spread red jam, on the second layer chocolate buttercreme. On the top of the cake I sieved cacao powder to imitate a horse track. The girls were happy with the cake and only 1 piece was left – lucky for me! It is always the same problem: If you bake a cake for a friend you can never try in advance how the cake tasts.
Horse Cake
The Bakery Project – Diary – 06
This week my niece celebrated her 7th birthday. She invited lots of little girls. It was a real challenge to bring them to her home after school. Several cars had to be organized. The birthday party was focused on horses, she loves them.
Thank god a baker helped me to write my niece’s name on the cake. Honestly I am not really good in writing with chocolate or sugar. My next poject will be to practise this.
